Artur Serra Araújo Realizador

Born in 1977, Serra Araújo finishes his bachelor's degree in Image and Sound, at the Portuguese Catholic University's Art School, in 2003.

After direc­ting short films such as Uma Comé­dia Infe­liz and Frio, which got an overwhel­ming accep­tance from the public and the cri­tics, he ven­tu­red into play­wri­ting with the play Alter Ego, pre­sen­ted by the Bruto The­a­ter, in 2006. On the fol­lowing year Serra Araújo pre­sen­ted his first full-length movie cal­led Sui­cí­dio Enco­men­dado, which recei­ved, among other awards, the jury’s spe­cial prize of Fan­tas­porto (2007). In 2010 debu­ted Desa­ver­go­nha­da­mente Real, which was awar­ded with the pri­zes of best short-film of the year, best direc­tor and best mon­tage, at Short­cutz Lis­boa Fast forward to the year of 2012 when he pre­sen­ted his full-lenght movie titled A moral Con­ju­gal, win­ning, once again, the the jury’s spe­cial prize of Fan­tas­porto.
