Artur Serra Araújo Realizador

Born in 1977, Serra Araújo finishes his bachelor's degree in Image and Sound, at the Portuguese Catholic University's Art School, in 2003.

After directing short films such as Uma Comédia Infeliz and Frio, which got an overwhelming acceptance from the public and the critics, he ventured into playwriting with the play Alter Ego, presented by the Bruto Theater, in 2006. On the following year Serra Araújo presented his first full-length movie called Suicídio Encomendado, which received, among other awards, the jury’s special prize of Fantasporto (2007). In 2010 debuted Desavergonhadamente Real, which was awarded with the prizes of best short-film of the year, best director and best montage, at Shortcutz Lisboa Fast forward to the year of 2012 when he presented his full-lenght movie titled A moral Conjugal, winning, once again, the the jury’s special prize of Fantasporto.
